YOUR ROLE


In this role you will be leading a team of 2-4 people being part of a global organization which is tasked with preclinical and clinical sample logistics supporting the bioanalytical team locally but also serving other functional areas in all parts of R&D locally and globally. You will be part of initiatives to streamline and improve current business practices by e.g. the use of innovative software tools and high-end laboratory automation. Strong networking, team player but also leader skills will allow you to have an impact on pipeline projects.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages effective and efficient the sample receiving group and is responsible for sample life cycle management and planning of budget, investments and maintenance.
  • Assures sample life cycle management according to GLP and GCP requirements
  • Provides local site expertise for sample management processes and global shipping and logistics of pre-clinical and clinical study samples
  • Contact to business and sample logistics managers at other Abbvie Sites
  • Manage/coordinating CRO activities in terms of sample logistics globally
  • Works directly with Laboratory Business to understand specific business processes, drivers and strategy in order to determine best practices and also Laboratory-Automation solution(s)
  • Develops leads and reviews the creation and implementation of Laboratory Automation solution(s) that will enable the organization to achieve its business goals
  • Allies with other functional areas to assure effective communication on behalf of customers
  • Master of Science/PhD or successful completed profession in science or its equivalent in education and work experience
  • > 3 years of experience in biostorage or compound management
  • 2-3 years of experience in life-science industry is a plus
  • Basic knowledge in chemistry and biology
  • Strong analytic thinking and problem solving skills, proven track record for tackling complex issues and problems, and ability to manage them to successful conclusions
  • Familiarity with GxP systems and CFR part 11 compliance and sound understanding of GLP/GCP
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, where results are achieved through incorporation of multiple points of view
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Fluent German and English, written and spoken
  • Programming knowledge and database mining experience is a plus
  • Basic experience in lab-automation is a plus
