The successful candidate will work within a research project on the identification of a metabolic target of a novel small molecule antibiotic. The project is funded by the Free State of Thuringia.

Main topics of the project will include:

  • Preparation of small molecules (synthesis)
  • Development of novel synthesis routes
  • Analysis of structure-activity-relationships
  • Implementation of standardized assays
  • Interpretation of pharmacological data
  • Evaluation and consideration of results obtained from molecular docking/modellingoring

Our requirements: You hold a Master (MSc) or diploma in Chemistry or related disciplines with a strong focus on organic synthesis. A strong interest and preferably basic experience in medicinal chemistry, target based lead optimization or natural product synthesis would be highly appreciated. We would like to welcome a highly motivated colleague with the ability to work on an interdisciplinary and translational project.

We offer a highly translational project with a promising career perspective. Highest standard laboratories with state-of-the-art instrumentation and the collaborative and constructive atmosphere at the HKI provide ideal conditions for the success of your project.
