Your work tasks will cover

• oversee and implement the individual project tasks (technically and administratively).
• frame, document,  and organize  the project processes from a technical but also an administrative point of view.
• to improve and extend the existing simulation infrastructure written in Python and partly in C.
• to test the system under various input parameters and check the plausibility of the output.
• to add new functionalities to the system.
• to develop a user interface giving access to all simulator functionality.
• keep up and extend existing project wide contacts.

We expect

• a relevant qualification (or equivalent relevant professional experience) in either physics, mathematics, or software engineering.
• experiences in physical optics simulations and a basic understanding of the underlying physics.
• experience in managing mid-size programming projects.
• excellent programming skills in Python.
• excellent analytical capabilities and the willingness to independently familiarize oneself with new subjects outside the core competencies.
• good communication skills in English (required) and German (preferable) in written, verbal and presentational forms.
• willingness to travels to national and international partner institutes.

The fulltime position is available immediately. The initial contract is for two years.
