Ph.D. student (m/f/d) | Discovery and Development of Electrosynthetic Reactions
Stellenangebot vom 20.05.2025
The Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion (MPI CEC) in Mülheim an der Ruhr studies fundamental chemical processes for energy conversion of molecules. The Department of Electrosynthesis of Prof. Dr. Siegfried R. Waldvogel is presently looking for candidate for a Ph.D. student (m/f/d) – Discovery and Development of Electrosynthetic Reactions.
The position is available immediately, the starting date is flexible till January 2026. The doctoral researcher will work on a 3-year-doctoral program. The successful candidate will be supervised by Prof. Dr. Siegfried R. Waldvogel.
Your tasks
The Department of Electrosynthesis at MPI CEC provides a unique environment, which employs state-of-the-art experimental approaches to provide novel and sustainable reaction methodologies. The appointed researcher will be performing electrochemical reactions and tune reaction conditions to optimize for products of high (industrial) relevance. The student will also be involved in investigating the reaction mechanism and performing studies on the scalability of electrosynthetic processes. The successful applicant will also be preparing scientific publications and presenting their results at national and international conferences.
Your qualifications
Applicants are required to have a Master's degree certificate in chemistry, chemical engineering or related disciplines. Experience in organic synthesis is required, prior knowledge of electrochemistry is beneficial, but not necessary.
Our offer
We offer an international, interdisciplinary and dynamic working environment in a highly renowned research institute, family-friendly jobs, and flexible working hours. The Ph.D. will be remunerated according to the Max Planck Society´s funding guidelines for junior scientists.
